WHEN WE WERE YOUNGER
Ten One Records returns with label co-founders Air Jackson and ACI TONA coming together for their very first collaborative release. ‘When We Were Younger’ is a flawless amalgamation of their melodic yet tough styles and is laced with nostalgia and good vibes born from their 25 years of exposure to the club and rave scene.
The title track ‘When We Were Younger’ is a melodic techno bomb with driving percussion and a pulsating baseline overlaid with building arps and powerful synth stabs. ‘Acid Love’ is an ode to the days of acid house and rave, the era in which both artists initially ignited their passion for electronic music. The final track ‘Whatever It Must Be’ is a deeper melancholic affair with sounds that bring you straight back to the electro house era of the mid 00's.

Esteemed Dublin record label Ten One Records begin their packed 2023 release schedule with a dreamy 2 track collaboration between label co-founder Air Jackson and long-time Ten One Records artist Soul Campbell.
From Dublin & Wicklow respectively, in this all-Irish affair the artists have flawlessly found the transition point between their differing styles. Having previously meshed ideas through means of remixing, this 2-track collaboration has been long awaited and surges beyond all expectations.
First up, ‘Float’ is a dance floor dream of percussive texture, airy pads and intense arpeggiators all layered upon a dark but energetic bassline. The second track ‘With You’ is a deeper and more melancholic breakbeat affair with an unforgettable and haunting vocal that instantly hooks you in.

Kicking off the duo is 'XTC', a feel-good dance floor track, with a rave edge, that has been taking European festivals by storm this summer. The second track in the instalment, Sunshine, encapsulates the expanse of Air Jackson's production range as he delivers a deep and emotive Drum & Bass track.
Much of Air Jackson’s recent releases were written during lockdown, however, this EP was produced when he was back touring clubs and festivals, which shines through in the high-octane dance floor energy on these productions.

Following on from his chart topping debut album ‘Chemistry', Dublin based producer Air Jackson serves up scintillating melodic grooves that take you far away from your everyday reality in his tasty two-tracker ‘Nebula' / 'Dreams’. The Dubliner, a former Amsterdam resident, knows how to traverse genres, finding exciting, unpredictable links as he goes, cross-sectioning between house, breakbeat, techno and a multitude of electronic genres.
On the first track in this release, Air Jackson teams up with exciting Irish DJ & Music Producer Prime8. ‘Nebula’ combines echoing melodic piano chords with a dark underlying bass, creating a high-energy breakbeat style track. ‘Dreams’ takes a darker techno turn with deep hypnotic spoken vocals, highlighting Air Jackson’s genre-fluid production style.
Air Jackson Every time & Bailey Ibbs
Air Jacksons latest release on Ten One Records is the intoxicating single 'Everytime' arriving shortly after his debut album, which gained support from Maceo Plex, John Digweed, Marco Faraone, Sasha Carassi, and James Zabiela, and features a heady remix from hotly-tipped talent Bailey Ibbs.
'Everytime' sees Air Jackson deliver a high-powered, peak-time groove, as noodling synths, dynamic rhythms, trade-mark percussion, and a memorable vocal add fuel to the nostalgic fire. Bailey Ibbs' rounds out proceedings with a menacing re-interpretation marrying skipping hats, pulsating bass and rolling crescendos.
SOUL CAMPBELL - UNIVERSUM
Campbell, who also goes by the name Drew, has been a key player on his local Dublin scene for the last decade. Besides regular sets at clubs like Opium, Hangar and Pygmalion, he also makes frequent festival appearances showing off his deep appreciation for everything from 80s pop to techno, disco to electro. This new tune was written during a harsh Irish lockdown and references contemporary artists like Palms Trax and The Blessed Madonna while throwing back to a time when Giorgio Moroder and Nile Rodgers were lighting up the charts. The single also marks ten years of Campbell's immersion in the dance world.
The superb 'Universum' is designed for dance, disco, and pop lovers and will bring good times to any set. It has big, skyward arps that bring light and cosmic dazzle. There are airy vocals and a chugging groove with plenty of nostalgic cowbells and imaginative studio effects that make it shine.
ACI TONA and Air Jackson are Irish DJs, producers, and label owners who have helped shape their local scene over the last decade-plus under numerous artist monikers and club nights. They use this label to platform vital talents and showcase their studio skills, which they do here and then some. ACI TONA's rework is a tense seven-minute trip that flips the original into a more tech-edged groove. The synths grind, the keys still sparkle, and the drums bang that bit harder for main room thrills. Air Jackson's well-crafted version is somewhere between expansive and cosmic but with steely drums that power forwards over a broad, moody bassline before vast breakbeats erupt and take you to the next level.
This ‘Universum’ release is a powerful package of floor-facing house and disco that will win plenty of new fans.

CHEMISTRY
Inspired by records that influenced his career, Air Jackson delivers his debut LP ‘Chemistry’ an eclectic and mesmerising mix of house, breaks, techno & drum and bass.
Dubby opener ‘Glitch’ sets the tone with a sea of spiralling melodies, layered sonics and an intricate bassline sequence, before minimalistic ‘Chemistry’ shifts direction with an evolving arrangement and passionate vocals. ‘Burning’ is a deeper affair; sharp looped drums fuse with low humming frequencies and heavenly builds to get listeners moving. ‘Entranced’ brings us down a melodic path, with a darker and grittier feel from heightened atmospherics, poignant modulations and soothing sonics. ‘Jungle’ proceeds with calming chords, glistening leads and pitter-patter drums, whilst ‘The Sound’ showcases an ethereal production with euphoric pads, ominous vocal snippets and refined percussion.
The pulsating rhythms and tonal depth on ‘Róisín Dubh’ illuminates the second half of the album, providing a pure electronic workout. ‘Dusk’ is a production to take us through to the early hours of the rave, focusing on warped synths and icy hats, whilst ‘Together’ is pure breaks; seductive drum programming, energetic progressions and punchy kicks add volume to this genuine anthem. ‘Annie’ and ‘Nightfall’ are two tracks that don’t stop building and create the perfect ‘arms-in-the-air’ experience. Penultimate offering ‘Niya’ is six minutes of tranquillity, laying the focus on the sensational bass and sedative effects, before rounding out proceedings with the equally enrapturing ‘Afterlife’.

Paul Sparkes returns to Ten One Records to deliver ‘Mc Carthy’, backed by remixes from label co-founders Air Jackson and ACI TONA. Amsterdam-based talent Paul Sparkes is a well-established DJ and producer who has headlined at clubs across the globe including Ministry Of Sound and Pacha New York whilst playing sets at Amsterdam Dance Festival and SXSW. With a history dating back to over two decades, Sparkes previous releases have seen him land on Nervous Records, Baroque Recordings and Polar Noise Records, gaining support from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Mark Knight, Carl Cox and Nic Fanciulli.
Following the release of his ‘Sela’ single on the label earlier this year, he now returns with ‘Mc Carthy’, accompanied by remixes from Ten One head honcho’s Air Jackson and ACI TONA this October. The pummelling ‘Mc Carthy’ fuses smooth rhythms alongside sweeping synth lines and acid arrangements to unveil an extremely captivating dancefloor-driven production.

‘This is Where I Am' is the 4 track debut EP from Soul Campbell (aka Drew) on Dublin's Ten One Records. Having been on the circuit in Ireland for the past six years as a DJ, Soul Campbell has landed his first set of productions, each containing a variety of sounds that span the different styles of House music that have evolved over the past 30 years. The lead track, ‘This is Where I Am’ is a deep journey, the pads gliding underneath an emotive vocal and a unique percussion pattern make for a perfect closing track. ‘Chig’ is a representation of the traditional club-friendly House sounds that have been made popular over the past 30 years. ‘Perc Africa’ is a throwback to the origins of House whilst also using contemporary components & sounds. ‘You Remember, You’re My Friend’ is emotional but also carries an acid bassline and large kick drum with layers of deep melody and vocals that embody a different take on House music as we know it today.
